Delroy Lindo Joins Cast of CYMBELINE Modern Shakespeare Adaptation

Deadline reports that Tony nominee Delroy Lindo has joined the cast of Michael Almereyda's CYMBELINE. The actor will join previously announced cast members Ethan Hawke, Ed Harris, Dakota Johnson, Penn Badgely, Milla Jovovich, Boyd Holbrook and Anton Yelchin

The film is described as a modern day adaption of Shakespeare's classic play, is scheduled to begin on August 19 in New York City. The drama will follow "a battle between dirty Cops and a drug dealing biker gang set in a corruption-riddled 21st century America." The original play focused on the daughter of the British king Cymbeline, who discovers she has secretly married a man raised in her father's court, resulting in his banishment from the court.

Lindo will portray Belarius, described as "a manly, battered and paranoid noble"

The actor will soon be seen in NBC's new drama Believe. His theater credits include Joe Turner's Come and Gone and "Master Harold"...and the boys. He has been seen on the big screen in "The Cider House Rules" and "Malcolm X."
