David Axelrod Set for ABC's THIS WEEK, 8/12

Former Minnesota Governor and potential Romney Vice Presidential nominee Tim Pawlenty and Obama campaign senior advisor David Axelrod speak with George Stephanopoulos on the 2012 presidential contest, Sunday on THIS WEEK.

As presumptive Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney launches a swing state bus tour this weekend, when will he announce his critical decision on a Vice Presidential running mate? What factors will determine Romney's final pick? And what would Tim Pawlenty bring to the ticket? And as the campaigns continue battling for voters in battleground states, have the ad wars gone too far? Can either candidate make a positive case for his election, or will negative attacks drive the campaign to Election Day?

As the Veepstakes enters the final stretch, can a conservative push for Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., propel him to the top of the Vice Presidential short list, or will Romney make a safer pick with Pawlenty or Ohio Sen. Rob Portman? And, with more than $1 billion in ad spending expected before Nov. 6, will misleading and outright false ads hurt efforts to sway undecided voters, or will they motivate turnout from each party's base? Also, as both candidates make their case on the campaign trail, will winning over women be the key to winning on Election Day?
