The Hollywood Reporter writes that Dan Aykroyd and Jill Scott are set to join Chadwick Boseman in GET ON UP, the upcoming James Brown biopic directed by Tate Taylor (The Help).

The film tells the life story of the 'Godfather of Soul' James Brown and chronicles his rise to fame, his struggles with drug addiction, his arrest for domestic violence and his financial difficulties.

Aykroyd will play Ben Bart, president of Universal Attractions, which represented Brown for more than 40 years. Scott will play Brown's wife.

Also in the cast are Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Lennie James.

Aykroyd last starred in HBO's Behind the Candelabra alongside Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. He is producing the upcoming Belushi biopic starring Emile Hirsch, will next be seen in the feature film Tammy, and recently voiced the Scarecrow for Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return. He has appeared on the big screen in The Campaign, 50 First Dates, Christmas with the Kranks, Bright Young Things, Crossroads, Antz, Casper, Chaplin, Driving Miss Daisy, Ghostbusters, The Blues Brothers and more. His TV credits include Happily Divorced, The Defenders, According to Jim, Saturday Night Live, Soul Man and more.

Scott recently starred in Lifetime's Steel Magnolias movie, as well as HBO's The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency and the movie Baggage Claim.
