Deadline.com reports that the CBS network has ordered the unscripted pilot DRAW SOMETHING, based on a game by Zynga, a social network game development company whose games work both stand-alone on mobile phones and as application widgets on social networking websites such as Facebook, Google+ and Myspace.
DRAW SOMETHING currently boasts over 100 million participants throughout the U.S. The TV project will be executive produced by Ryan Seacrest and Michael Davies. According to the network: “Each week, teams of celebrities and everyday users will test their skills in front of a studio audience to earn money and big laughs. Viewers can also play along at home for a chance to win prizes and compete with the celebrities.”
This will not be the first time that CBS has brought a popular digital game to primetime TV. Its comedy series $#*! My Dad Says was based on a popular Twitter feed.
