Vega Baby Releasing has announced today that they have acquired North American DVD and VOD rights to THE COMEDY DEANO AND NIGE'S BEST LAST DAY EVER, which is directed by Robert Sarkies and produced by Vicky Pope and Timothy White, and stars Academy Award® Winner Bret McKenzie ('Flight of the Conchords') and comedian Hamish Blake ('Hamish and Andy'). Vega Baby will release it to audiences via DVD and all digital platforms on September 8th, 2015.
When Nige (McKenzie) accidentally runs over and kills an innocent hitchhiker, he only has one person he can turn to; his former best friend, Deano (Blake). Problem is, Deano is the last person in the world who you would want to rely on in a crisis. As the old saying goes -- Nothing comes between friends like a dead body. The deal was brokered by Sheldon Brigman, CEO and Co-President of Vega Baby Releasing and by Rochelle Cooney, Business Affairs Executive of the New Zealand Film Commission on behalf of the filmmakers. "Bret McKenzie and Hamish Blake are comedic geniuses and are absolutely hilarious together in this buddy comedy," commented Brigman. Vega Baby Releasing previously distributed the Ukraine-set horror/thriller GHOUL to theaters this spring, the ensemble comedy LAST CALL with Christopher Lloyd, Ryan Hansen, Tara Reid and Travis Van Winkle, as well as the high-profile documentary THE MAGIC OF HEINEKEN, which made an exclusive run on Hulu before heading into select theaters and a multi-platform release late last year.Videos
