At 10p/9c tonight, DATELINE NBC will air "Prince: Life & Death of an Icon," an hour-long special devoted to the life and legacy of Prince, the genre-busting pop icon and cultural luminary. The special, anchored by Lester Holt from Los Angeles, will celebrate the legendary songwriter, producer, singer and virtuoso musician known for his show-stopping public performances and intensely personal private life. The special will review the last days of Prince and look at other music legends that have died recently.

The program will feature reporting from Dateline correspondents Harry Smith, Andrea Canning, Cynthia McFadden, Josh Mankiewicz and Natalie Morales.

The episode previously planned to air tonight, "House of Secrets," about a Cornell student caught in the middle of a homicide investigation, will air at a later date. Sunday night's "Dateline NBC" episode, "The Usual Suspects," will air as planned on April 24 at 10p/9c.

David Corvo is the senior executive producer, Liz Cole is the executive producer and Lester Holt is the primary anchor of "Dateline" (Fridays at 10pm/9c and Sundays at 10pm/9c). Follow "Dateline NBC" on Facebook , Instagram and Twitter @datelinenbc.
