DANGER CLOSE, a film directed by Christian Tureaud and David Salzberg (The Hornet's Nest, Citizen Soldier), will premiere at the Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) in Tampa, Florida on Thursday, March 9.

Based on a true story, Danger Close follows freelance female war reporter Alex Quade on her mission to tell "soldiers' stories" during a series of unprecedented encounters with both Conventional Forces and U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) at the height of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Alex is bound and determined to complete the mission, even when she nearly loses her life in an airborne assault and the ensuing rescue attempt. During a highly-classified combat mission in Iraq, she falls in with a Green Beret A Team that had just lost its Combat Engineer, Green Beret SSG Rob Perelli. An injured Alex ends up back in the States to rehab and prepare to redeploy--little does she know how pivotal her redeployment would become. Through a series of life-changing events and a fated meeting with Rob Pirelli's family, her return to Iraq turns into the mission of a lifetime.

Danger Close will premiere on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the historic Tampa Theater located at 711 N Franklin St., Tampa. Directors Christian Tureaud and David Salzberg, Executive Producer Wendy R. Anderson, Producer/Star Alex Quade and the Gold Star parents of Rob Pirelli will attend the premiere.

"We are honored to host this premiere of Danger Close as Tampa is home to CENTCOM and SOCOM out of MacDill Air Force Base and give our community the first chance to see this powerful film," Monica Varner, Executive Director of GIFF.

"Film can help us think, and see the world through a wider view, or a different perspective. Film can give us insight into a circumstance we'd rather not have firsthand. Danger Close is one of those films, and we hope the GIFF audience will enjoy it," said Mary McDonald, Community Relations Director at Suncoast Credit Union.

"We're excited to share this film with Christian's home-state and with an audience that we know will appreciate these stories that Alex is bringing to the world's attention," stated filmmakers Christian Tureaud and David Salzberg.

"We are so honored to work with this filmmaking team, who has brought so much integrity and insight to this unique world of special ops, and now will take the Gasparilla audience to the frontline," says Julie Candelaria, Sr. Vice President of Marketing at Gravitas Ventures.

The Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival runs from March 2-9 and will feature over 100 films from around the world, including Danger Close.
