Comedy Central announced today that it has teamed with the NFL to televise the first-ever official SUPER BOWL comedy special, making this year's pre-Super Bowl festivities even bigger, better and more hilarious than ever before. Starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of Comedy Central's hit sketch-comedy series "Key & Peele," the "Key & Peele SUPER BOWL Special" (#KeyAndPeeleSuperBowlSpecial) is a one-hour sketch-comedy show set to air SUPER BOWL Weekend tonight, January 30th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT-and encoring the night before SUPER BOWL XLIX, on Saturday January 31st, at 11 p.m. ET/PT-on Comedy Central.
The special will feature Key and Peele anchoring the ultimate SUPER BOWL comedy event, using the ubiquitous sports news-desk format to celebrate professional football, its most beloved personalities and the grandest day on its calendar: SUPER BOWL Sunday. Channeling all of the energy and excitement on the ground at SUPER BOWL XLIX in Arizona, the special will include sketch-comedy vignettes featuring to-be-announced NFL players and a possible SUPER BOWL edition of the popular "East-West Bowl" sketch from "Key & Peele." In the weeks leading up to the special, Key and Peele will also post their playoff predictions in a series of social-media videos. The "Key & Peele SUPER BOWL Special" will be available February 2 - February 8 in the Comedy Central App with no authentication necessary and on demand through cable providers. Sponsors for the special include Bounty paper towels, Papa John's, Pepsi, and The U.S. Air Force.
