Syfy has inked actors Chris Diamantopoulos (Broadway's 'The Full Monty', 'Les Miserables') and Jake Sandvig for starring roles in HIGH MOON, a 90-minute pilot, co-produced by Universal Cable Productions and Lark Productions set to commence shooting August 26 in Vancouver BC. The project is based on the novel "The Lotus Caves" by John Christopher.

High Moon is an imaginative, out-of-this-world adventure series exploring what happens when Earth establishes colonies to mine the Moon's resources and discover a new form of life. Chaos erupts in a genuinely emotional, humorously thrilling and always unexpected fashion as the colonists of the Moon race to uncover this life form's powerful secrets.

High Moon is executive produced by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) and Adam Kane (Being Human), Cary Granat and Steve Granat for Reel FX, Don Murphy and Susan Montford for Angry Films, and Louise Clark and Andrew Williamson for Lark Productions. Adam Kane will also direct the pilot written by Co-executive Producer Jim Danger Gray (Pushing Daisies) from the story adaptation written by Bryan Fuller and Gray.

Diamantopoulos will portray Ian, a chief investigator for the American federal government who has been dispatched to the moon to figure out the causes of an explosion, and becomes stunned by what he discovers. Ian is an outwardly calm, strong and silent type but always with a dizzying agenda in his head that combines to make him a closeted neurotic. The only person with a key to that closet door is his younger brother, Marty, whose unique ability to get under his skin has led to a complex and antagonistic relationship.

Diamantopoulos attended the East York Collegiate Institute, and landed on Broadway where he played the lead in The Full Monty (2002) and Les Miserables (2003). In 2007, he appeared opposite Debra Messing in USA's The Starter Wife. He has had recurring roles on the NBC sitcom Up All Night, NBCs The Office, 24 and Arrested Development. In addition, he has guest-starred in several series, including Charmed, The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck and Boston Legal. Diamantopoulos is represented by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.

Jake Sandvig portrays Marty, whose felony conviction requires that he serve prison time as a moon laborer. Nonetheless passionate about his job on the moon, Marty is investigated for engaging in possible espionage and sabotage when a giant blast goes off near an area where he was working. Marty has found something that he knows is a game-changer and will go to the ends of the moon to prove he is telling the truth about its existence.

Sandvig's first high profile role was that of Josh Jordon, son to Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer in 1999's The Story Of Us. Jake followed that up with parts on several television shows including Once And Again, The Closer and Veronica Mars. He played Lash in the 2005 movie Sky High starring Kurt Russell and Michael Angarano and starred in Brian Crano's play the 12th Premise as Con. From 2006-2008 he starred alongside Jeffrey Tambor and John Lithgow on NBC's Twenty Good Years. In addition, he had comedic roles in features Extreme Movie, Fired Up and the 2010 hit Easy A. Sandvig also co-wrote and starred in the movie A Bag Of Hammers, which debuted at the 2011 South by Southwest festival. Sandvig is represented by Innovative Artists.
