According to Deadline, at today's CBS' Carpool Karaoke panel at TCA, executive producer Ben Winston revealed that the previously announces new series, which will stream on Apple Music, will feature 16 different hosts, including Chelsea Handler, Seth MacFarlane, John Legend, and Billy Eichner. LATE LATE SHOW host James Corden, who originated the feature, will not appear in the upcoming incarnation.

Explained Corden, "I'm still going to see my kid on the weekends. This just became a wonderful platform to see these people in a such an intimate environment. I don't feel it's mine."

Commented executive producer Eric R. Pankowski on Corden's absence from the new endeavor, "It was a pretty quick decision. What James does is so special and singular. It was silly to make a full TV series, to try to replicate that or duplicate that. We fell in love with doing 16 specials. Each one was its own event."

Revealing some of the all-star pairings to be featured in the series, it was revealed that MacFarlane will drive around with Ariana Grande, while Alicia Keys will be in the passenger seat next to Legend. "There's something about the intimacy of a car," joked Winston.
