Cedric Nicolas-Troyan Is THE HUNTSMAN's New Director

According to Deadline, Universal has nabbed Cedric Nicolas-Troyan to helm THE HUNTSMAN. Original director Frank Darabont departed the project last week due to creative differences. Nicolas-Troyan will use Darabont's draft of the script.

Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron star as 'The Huntsman' and 'Ravenna' in the follow-up to SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, which details how the pair crossed paths before meeting Snow White. Emily Blunt is also in talks to join the cast.

Nicolas-Troyan worked on visual effects for the first SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN movie, as well as Disney's MALEFICENT. He is also working on the upcoming films BETHLEHEM and HIGHLANDER.

THE HUNTSMAN will hit theaters on April 22, 2016.
