Carla Gugino to Play Recurring Role on FOX's NEW GIRL Season 2

According to TVLine.com, FOX's comedy New Girl has cast Broadway, television and film star Carla Gugino as Schmidt's boss Emma, to appear in three episodes for season two, beginning in the seventh episode.

In the character arc, Schmidt will sign a contract with Emma, and their relationship, with its S&M slant, will mirror the popular novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

Gugino's other TV credits include Californication, Political Animals, Entourage, Karen Sisco, Threshold, Spin City, Chicago Hope and more. Gugino has played film roles in the Spy Kids trilogy, Sucker Punch, Sin City, Watchmen, Son in Law, Night at the Museum, Race to Witch Mountain, American Gangster, Mr. Popper's Penguins and more.

The actress has appeared on Broadway in The Road to Mecca, Desire Under the Elms and After The Fall. Among her Off-Broadway credits is Suddenly Last Summer.

New Girl returns to FOX with a double-episode season two premiere on September 25.
