CRESCENDO Awarded 'Best Director' at 9th Annual NBC Universal Short Film Festival

Alonso Alvarez Barreda, director of the critically hailed short film Crescendo was awarded "Best Director" at the 9th Annual NBC Universal Short Film Festival in Hollywood last night.

"I make films to say something about the world and to connect with people around it, said Mr. Alvarez Barreda at the festival. The film was just released on YouTube and has been viewed nearly 30,000 times.

Pattie Mallette, President of Noble Pictures and the mother of pop singer Justin Bieber served as the executive producer of the film, which stars American actress Ali Landry. Written and directed by Mr. Alvarez Barreda, and produced by Jason Jones and Eduardo Verastegui, the producer of "Bella," Crescendo raised more than $5 million for crisis pregnancy centers in its limited theatrical release.
"Crescendo is a celebration of the strength, beauty, fortitude and dignity of women," said Executive Producer Pattie Mallette.
"Movie to Movement is committed to diversity in film: diversity in stories and storytellers. It was a privilege to work with such a talented young writer and director so early in his career," said Jason Jones, one of the producers of Crescendo. "
Crescendo was filmed at Universal Studios. In fourteen minutes, all of the artists involved in this film have created a heartwarming and touching portrait that will stay with the viewer long after the film ends.
