Disney's Christopher Robin took in $1.5 million in it's Thursday-night previews at North American box offices, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film's biggest competition will be Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which debuted to a strong $61.2 million last weekend. On Thursday, it earned an estimated $5.6 million for a domestic total approaching $90 million.
Disney's Christopher Robin, stars Ewan McGregor as an overworked and stressed-out adult Christopher Robin, who has lost touch with his imagination. All that changes when his childhood friends - Winne-the-Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and the rest of the gang - magically emerge from THE HUNDRED Acre Wood.
Several other films are also set to open nationwide, including The Spy Who Dumped Me, starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon, which earned $950,000 in Thursday-evening previews. Fox's The Darkest Minds, grossed $550,000 in previews.
