CBS's 60 MINUTES Is #1 Non-Sports Primetime Program for 2nd Time this Season

By:

In a season of strong ratings nights, 60 MINUTES had its best in two years last Sunday. The CBS newsmagazine drew 18.4 million viewers, the most since December 2012, to finish at #3 for the week and make Nielsen's Top 10 for a sixth straight week - its longest in-season streak on the list since December 2011. It was the seventh time in nine weeks that 60 MINUTES finished among America's 10 most-watched primetime broadcasts.

60 MINUTES was also the #1 non-sports program of the week, watched by more than any other show on primetime television except the NFL.

The program also made the Top 10 in households at #3, scoring an 11.0/17, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 30.

Sunday's 60 MINUTES featured a Scott Pelley story about the World Food Programme combating hunger in Syria, Bill Whitaker's report on computer hackers stealing credit card numbers, and Clarissa Ward's report on the sad fate of lions raised in South African ANIMAL parks for tourists to pet.

CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager is the executive producer of 60 MINUTES, America's most-watched news program.
