CBS's broadcast of the Kennedy Center Honors saw a ratings decline from its presentation of last year's awards show. The show lost a third of its adult audience aged 18 - 49 as compared to last year's presentation.  Despite the ratings slide, CBS still won the night overall among adults 18 - 49 as well as in total viewers with 9.7 million.

Singer Barbara Cook, singer and songwriter Neil Diamond, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, saxophonist and composer Sonny Rollins and actress Meryl Streep were the honorees for 34TH ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER HONORS. The special has been broadcast on CBS each year since its debut.

In a star-studded celebration on the Kennedy Center Opera House stage, the 2011 Honorees were saluted by great performers from Hollywood and the arts capitols of the world. Seated with President and Mrs. Obama, the Honorees accepted the thanks of their peers and fans through performances and heartfelt tributes.
