By: May. 05, 2016

CBS SUNDAY MORNING, the nation's #1 Sunday morning news program, posted double-digit year-to-year audience increases and surpassed 6 million viewers for the 13th time since January, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for May 1.

The broadcast delivered 6.17 million viewers and a 1.3/07 in adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +13% in viewers (from 5.48m) and even in adults 25-54.

Season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING, which earned its third Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Morning Program last Sunday, is delivering 6.05 million viewers and a 1.3/07 with adults 25-54. CBS SUNDAY MORNING is #1 viewers and adults 25-54, season-to-date.

Sunday's broadcast was anchored by Jane Pauley and featured Barry Petersen's report on the growing trend of senior citizens using marijuana; Tracy Smith's interview with music superstar Marc Anthony; Lee Cowan's visit to a geographical oddity - Northwest Angle, Minnesota, an American town you have to drive through Canada to get to; Mo Rocca's story about Reverend Schenck, a pro-life advocate who also believes in strict gun control; Anthony Mason's profile of a man who has walked nearly every street of New York's five boroughs; David Martin's profile of Medal of Honor recipient Clint Romesha; and Steve Hartman's story about a judge who joins a nervous former Green Beret in his jail cell.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING is broadcast Sundays (9:00-10:30 AM ET) on the CBS Television Network. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.
