CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD posted year-to year increases with adults 25-54 and viewers, and was the #1 Sunday morning news program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Jan. 3.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING delivered 6.44 million viewers and a 1.5/08 in adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. CBS SUNDAY MORNING posted its best delivery in viewers and adults 25-54 since March 1, 2015. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +15% in adults 25-54 (from 1.3/07) and +3% in viewers (from 6.28m).

Season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is the #1 Sunday morning news program with adults 25-54 and viewers. The broadcast is delivering 5.69 million viewers and a 1.2/07 with adults 25-54.

The Jan. 3 broadcast featured Jim Axelrod's chat with actress Kate Winslet; Mo Rocca's look at the practice and power of meditation; Lee Cowan's interview with actress Lily Tomlin; Anna Werner's exploration of the history and legacy of Chicago's architecture; Seth Doane's report on Japan's fascination with cats from Aoshima - "Cat Island" - where felines outnumber humans; Steve Hartman's report on an ugly Christmas tree that was saved by a Pennsylvania town; Martha Teichner's look at the 100-year-old mystery of the sinking of the Lusitania; and actor and author Michael Ian Black's thoughts about what he will and will not be resolving to do in the New Year.
