CBS Orders Tommy Johnagin Pilot and Lawyer Drama from GREY'S ANATOMY Producers

According to Deadline, CBS ordered its first two pilots of the season today -- a comedy starring Tommy Johnagin and a drama from the producers of GREY'S ANATOMY and ELEMENTARY.

The untitled comedy is written by Johnagin and Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker (Surviving Jack, S*** My Dad Says) and centers on "a stand-up comic (Johnagin) raising a family in a small Midwestern town." Bill Lawrence will also executive produce.

GREY'S ANATOMY and MADAM SECRETARY's Tony Phelan & Joan Rater wrote and will executive produce their new, untitled drama, which follows "a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets involved romantically with one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime."

Elementary's Sarah Timberman & Carl Beverly are also producing the drama.
