CBS News Programming Reaches 50.8 Million Viewers

CBS News' broadcasts combined were watched by 50.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen most current ratings for the week ending April 12.
The week marked FACE THE NATION anchor Bob Schieffer announcing on air that CBS News Political Director John Dickerson would become the anchor of the broadcast this summer. A week earlier, Schieffer said he would retire. Elsewhere last week, correspondent Debora Patta took viewers to the site of an attack on a college in Kenya; Julianna Goldman reported the latest on the fallout from a retracted Rolling Stone story about an alleged rape on the University of Virginia campus; Michelle Miller reported on one man's efforts to create the Whitney Plantation Museum in Louisiana; Steve Kroft explored the impact the computer hacking at Sony would have on corporate America; and Dean Reynolds reported on Shinola, a high-end products maker based in Detroit.
