CBS EVENING NEWS is Up Year-to-Year in Viewers

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +2% year-to-year in viewers (6.38m from 6.26m) for the week ending August 14, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. The CBS broadcast added +120,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY maintained its rating in adults 25-25 (1.2/06) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - compared to last year.

Television year-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +3% in viewers (7.03m from 6.81m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.4/06) compared to last year.

On last week's broadcasts, Scott Pelley interviewed Secretary of State John Kerry; Holly Williams spoke with Syrian fighters who trained with U.S. troops but quit the program; Seth Doane covered the warehouse explosion in Tianjin, China; Jeff Pegues investigated the sale of counterfeit tourniquets to the military and first responders; and Margaret Brennan was in Havana for the reopening of the U.S. Embassy.
