Buddy Hackett's Son Comments on Passing of Sid Caesar

Sandy Hackett, entertainer and son of late legendary comedian Buddy Hackett, comments on the death of their family friend and "Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" co-star, the iconic Sid Caesar:
"Sid was one of the nicest and funniest guys I ever knew. He was one of the best ever! His Show of Shows was the inspiration and predecessor of so much that followed after him like; Saturday Night Live. At almost 92 he had a helluva run. I had the pleasure of appearing in the film 'When Comedy Went to School' - a Ron Frank documentary that chronicled the early days of comedy in the Catskills and interviewed Sid Caesar.Sid Caesar was a pioneer and a gentleman. His kind of funny never gets old. He was truly one of the greats! I went to high school with his daughter Karen who I haven't seen since high school. His son Rick led my high school to a CIF championship in 1969 the year before I got there. Our fathers were both comedy legends and friends. I hope my dad is waiting for him in heaven and they are having some laughs together."Recent Articles
