However, The Happytime Murders only opened to $10 million domestically from 3,526 theaters, which is a career low opening for Melissa McCarthy.
New family adventure A.X.L. opened to even less, with only $2.9 million.

Christopher Nolan's "unrestored" 70mm version of 2001: A Space Odyssey grossed $800,000 as it began its one-week run in four IMAX theaters, while 300 theaters are showing a 4K restoration of the film.
Overseas, Ant-Man and the Wasp won the box office with $71.2 million. Its premiere in China made $68 million, which makes the film the fourth-best showing of any title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
