Tonight's season finale was filled with shocks, scares, and even a few love connections, but we were left with more questions than ever before. For once, the episode began on an uplifting note. Emma's father brings her the good news he all saw coming; she is a match for a lung transplant! Her father conveniently leaves out Dylan's role in financing her surgery, but Emma doesn't seem to question where her father came up with the money.

Norma was facing money problems of her own. Coming to realize that Norman may need professional help, and she decides to check out a home for mental patients.Though the facility is lavish and pristine, there is no way she can afford to put Norman in the home.

Meanwhile, Bradley and Norman prepare to flee town. Bradley breaks into her former home and steals any valuables she can find while breaking everything in her path. She is able to steal thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. But when she asks Norman to be ready to leave that night, he is not as eager as she'd hoped. Norman admits that he cannot fathom leaving his mother behind. But later that afternoon Norma tells Norman her plans to place him in a mental ward, thus prompting him to change his mind.

Across town, Emma runs away from home just before her surgery. She goes to Dylan's cabin to escape her worries, and tells him that she is unsure of whether or not to go through with the transplant. She is scared that her body will reject the new lungs and leave her with more medical problems than ever before. Dylan comforts her, assuring her that if anyone can do it, she can. This, of course, charms Emma to pieces, and the two finally kiss after nearly season of sexual tension. It's about time!

Back at the Bates home, Romero apologies to Norma for turning the flash drive over to the DEA. But regardless of how bad of a situation this puts Norma in, he assures her that he feels he did the right thing. Norma fears that Paris will launch an investigation of all of Norman's murders if he is caught. But Paris gets away with his crimes thanks to a heads up from Romero who calls him just before the DEA invades his home. Romero was clearly looking out for Norma's best interests by stopping Paris's arrest. But when Paris retreats to his fishing boat to skip town, Romero is already on the boat to stop him in his tracks. Paris tries to explain that he will not harm Norma and Norman after he leaves town. But he makes the mistake of calling Romero a replica of his father, which causes Romero to shoot him repeatedly. White Pine Bay's primary drug lord is finally dead!

Norman prepares to leave town with Bradley. His mother tries to stop him on his way out the door, for she believes Bradley is dead and Norman has lost his mind. The two get into a fight on the stairs and Norman hits his head and goes unconscious. Norma drags Norman down the basement stairs and ties his hands and fight together with cloth. She then locks him downstairs and calls Dylan to come home. When Dylan later goes down into the basement to retrieve Norman, he realizes that Norman has somehow got out of the basement. Dylan informs his mother than Bradley is actually alive and Norman really could be running away with her. They both run out of the house to find him.

After getting out of the basement, Bradley picks up Norman in her car. As they drive out of White Pine Bay, Norman has a hallucination of his mother that asks to to speak with Bradley. Norman/Norma forces Bradley to pull over and then brutally attacks her, hitting her head over a rock until she is dead. After the killing is done, Norman says, "What have you done, Mother?".

Norman packs Bradley away into the trunk of the car and pushes the car into the lake. A hallucination of Norma assures Norman that he did the right thing, and that they will always be together. Norman is coming dangerously close to the Norman we know from Pyscho, and it seems to be happening far quicker than we expect!

Wow, what a season! This show never disappoints, and I don't know how we are going to wait another year before re-joining Norma and Norman. And now Norman/Norma. What predictions do you have for season 4? Leave a comment down below!
