A Morgan-centric episode? It feels like Christmas more than Thanksgiving. My, not so secret, favorite character is front and center this week and this recapper is giddy.

Mindy has noticed that Danny's Mom is very much involved in their life to the point of chatting with them while they bathe together. With Peter's guidance, Mindy decides to set Annette up on a date and she's got the perfect (or an old guy she knows) person for him. After a successful date, Annette decides that she wants to play the field and creates an online dating profile. Also playing the field is Morgan who has recently been dumped by Tamra. Peter sets Morgan up with a great profile and Mindy decides that Morgan dating Annette would be the perfect way to snap both of them back to reality. Believe it or not, the plan backfires and they actually want to continue dating. (Morgan playing catch with Danny in their little red baseball caps may be one of my favorite moments of the season.) As suspected, Danny isn't all that happy about the new relationship and Mindy realizes that it's not just Annette that is overbearing, Danny tends to invite it. Annette is his best friend. Annette finally confesses to Danny that she's wanted to date for a while because of Richie and Danny and now it's her time. She and Morgan call it quits. Tamra makes a play to get Morgan back but he says no.

So I am thinking that the only thing better than Tamra and Morgan together may be Tamra and Morgan broken up. I LOVE these two. I have a feeling Tamra is either going to make a play to win Morgan back (maybe we can see Rayron again???) or she's going to make his life a living hell. And either way, I'm so in. Morgan is just my favorite, unapologetically. His snarky little smile when Tamra and Mindy fight over him sums him up in an instant. I would love to see a road trip to Morgan's family's place for a holiday to really get some insight into the Tookers. If his cousin, Lou, is any indication, I think we'd be in for a mighty treat.

After learning this week that Peter (Adam Pally) is heartbreakingly leaving as a series regular, his role was already diminished this episode as he fought for SOLE CUSTODY of his office space. I don't want Peter to go away. His character is adorable and growing and his pairing up with Morgan is inexplicably perfect. Nonetheless, I suppose he'll be back from time to time.

MVP - Morgan Tookers: you're just the greatest.

Runner Up - Beverly, I mean, she was shucking corn at her desk.

Lines I Love:

  • Tamra - I dumped Morgan last night. Mindy - What happened? Did you see the two of you in a mirror together?

  • Mindy - If finding a husband was that easy, I would not be here working. I'd be married and in Connecticut. Wine drinking all day and working on my smug Mom blog entitled "Diapers and Daydreams."

  • Peter - What are your interests? Morgan - Dog husbandry and spending time with my grandmother.

  • Mindy - Morgan, I don't wanna see your ice bucket challenge. It's like 80 years too late. Morgan - But I did mine with hot water.

  • Morgan - My dad left when I was a kid too, so I didn't know what "catch" was. Turns out it's just like "fetch" except both people are the person.

As creepy as it may appear, Danny's relationship with his mother rings all too true for an Italian family. And even though it gets under Mindy's skin sometimes, I think she appreciates it. Are we ever going to meet any more of Mindy's family? Speaking of which, where's brother her Rishi? PITCH PERFECT 2 is done filming, get Utkarsh Ambudkar back for some Mindy/Rishi time. I can't imagine he wouldn't have an opinion on Mindy and Danny. Between Rishi and Richie, it's time the brothers of our favorite couple weighed in.
