On this week's episode of Supergirl, Kara finally learns that Mon-El is the prince of Daxam and she isn't too pleased. When his parents, including guest star Teri Hatcher, come to Earth to retrieve him, Mon-El is forced to face up to his lies. Meanwhile, Lyra gets Winn in trouble with the law and it turns out that Kara wasn't the only one being lied to...

The episode opens with Mon-El and Kara cuddled up on her couch eating ice creams. When he asked if they can watch a movie musical, I laughed out loud. That's some heavy handed foreshadowing, CW! They're so giddy and happy that it's no surprise something bad had to occur. A message broadcasts across TVs asking for Mon-El of Daxam to be turned over.

Lyra brings Winn to the National City Art Gallery at night to break in. He's reluctant at first, but of course is willing to hack their way in when persuaded. Lyra has always struck me as a bad influence on our sweet, too easily persuaded IT boy.

Mon-El asks to go with Kara to confront the mysterious space ship over National City, but she refuses. The spaceship attacks her, but Kara is ready to go back to the fight. Mon-El insists that he's going to relinquish himself so that she won't get hurt. When he kissed her goodbye, I went a little dreamy eyed (no shame).

Of course, Kara follows him and is surprised when everyone on the ship bows to him. Rhea and Lar Gand greet their son affectionately because, as we all have guessed by now, Mon-El is actually the prince of Daxam. Teri Hatcher, who plays Rhea, is no stranger to Kryptonites as she played Lois Lane in the 1990s television series, "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." I love how Supergirl always manages to bring in different Superman and Supergirl 'alumni.'

Mon-El's parents embrace him and are excited to see him, but he questions how they survived. He introduces Kara to his parents and she is fuming that he lied to her. They ask Mon-El and Kara to join them for dinner to get to know more about them and celebrate Mon-El's return home. On one hand, Kara has a right to be mad that Mon-El lied. However, she's always super hard on him and remember how she barely gave him a chance in the beginning? No one can tell me that she would have been willing to get to know him if she'd known he was the prince of Daxam, not just a guard.

Maggie calls Winn into the police station and questions him about breaking into the art m useum. He admits that he did, but is surprised when she says that "Starry Night" is missing and he's the main suspect. The security footage suspiciously shows only him and no Lyra. Alex and James show up and ask for 48 hours to try to find Lyra themselves in return for releasing Winn into their custody. Maggie reluctantly agrees and the three friends set to work.

At dinner with Rhea and Lar Gand, Mon-El is in hot water with everyone. His parents are disappointed that he's not more excited to see them and Kara is salty about him being the prince. An argument breaks out over the treatment of slaves on Daxam and Rhea reveals that they want to return to Daxam, which is a hospitable environment once more. We get a flashback to see the true story of how Mon-El escaped during the chaotic destruction of his home planet, revealing that his guard killed a Kryptonian emissary to put Mon-El in his space pod and send him away.

Kara storms out of dinner, followed by Mon-El. Back at the DEO, they argue and Mon-El makes a good point that she would never have even talked to him if she'd known he was the crown prince. He insists that him being the prince doesn't change anything, but Kara fires back, "I thought you were just born on a cruel planet, but you led it." If you ask me, Kara's a bit quick to throw away relationships when problems arise.

Alex, James, and Winn discover that Lyra has actually been involved in two other art heists in the past nine months. At least she's a classy criminal? Kara tells Winn, "Sometimes the people closest to us are our biggest blind spots." She's excited to work with the Superfriends again, but Alex tells her that she should sit this mission out and deal with Mon-El instead. She insists that Kara should at least give him a chance to explain; thank goodness for wise older sisters.

At the alien bar, Alex, Winn, and James question a guy about Lyra's whereabouts. He seems unlikely to give up any information, until they ask for his price. "Hamilton tickets, orchestra," he demands and Alex promises them to him in return for his information. I swear, every time this show makes a Hamilton reference, I love it even more.

Rhea arrives at the DEO and asks to speak to Kara about Mon-El. She says, "I didn't thank you earlier for taking care of my son" but Kara is wary. Rhea asks for her help in convincing Mon-El to return to Daxam to rebuild their planet. "Would you rather him stay here and learn by degrees that he's not good enough for you?" she demands. When Kara protests that she doesn't despise anyone, Rhea insists, "But you think you're better than him." She has a point there, to be perfectly honest.

Winn arrives at Lyra's trailer and confronts her about whether he was just a mark or if she ever cared. She easily tells him that he never mattered, but he has the Guardian waiting outside. Unfortunately, she has burly guys waiting as well and they all fight. It seems mismatched until Alex shows up to save the day (as usual). They capture Lyra and the painting, but not before the other guys get away.

Winn goes to Lyra's cell and she confesses that she got involved with a crime ring because they have her younger brother. "He's as good as dead now, thanks to you and your friends," she angrily tells him. She admits that she actually did like Winn, but that they're threatening to kill her brother if she doesn't pay his debts. This scene was another reminder of how brilliant of an actor Jeremy Jordan is. Convinced by this speech (and altogether too trusting), Winn frees Lyra from prison and offers to help her.

Kara tells Mon-El that she spoke with his mother and suggests that he should return to Daxam. He's eager to clear things up with her, but she says that he shouldn't waste his second chance to be with his people. "You're a prince, so start acting like one," she quips. Ouch; anyone else think Kara was a bit harsh in this scene?

Winn and Lyra take the painting to the gang and Mr. Mandrax shows up in person for it. They hand it over to him and the gang brings out Lyra's brother, but Mandrax catches on that the painting is a fake. The Guardian shows up to join in the fight but all hope appears to be lost when Alex and DEO agents arrive. Lyra is shocked that Winn planned this all along, but is ecstatic to be reunited with her brother. I was never a big fan of Lyra's, but seeing her with her brother may have changed my mind.

Winn hands over the real "Starry Night" to Maggie and she says not to worry about Lyra and her brother's previous crime involvement. Thank goodness Maggie and Alex's relationship continues to be cute and real and wonderful, because I couldn't handle them falling apart like every other couple on this show.

Lyra says that she and her brother are going to leave and is shocked when Winn says that he doesn't hate her at all. Not as shocked as Kara though, who is very surprised that Winn has forgiven Lyra. He tells Kara that he's sure Mon-El had his reasons for what he did and that Kara just needs to decide if those reasons are good enough for her. I absolutely adore Winn and Kara's friendship and this relationship talk made me so happy.

Kara goes home and Mon-El is there waiting for her. He says that he owes her the truth and it's clear that he's ready to fight for their relationship. He tells her that he loves her and that he doesn't want to be the person that he used to be. "Were you ever going to tell me the truth?" Kara asks and he clearly has no answer for it. Then Mon-El was crying and Kara was crying and I was crying too. Despite everything Mon-El says, Kara tells him, "It's over" and asks him to leave. (I'm currently home for spring break and watched with my family. At this point, my little sister declared, "Kara's a little diva." I'm inclined to agree.)

Mon-El returns to the spaceship to tell his pare nts that he isn't returning to Daxam with them. "I'm done being your prince," he says as he doesn't believe that they've changed their ways at all. When Rhea says that he sounds like Kara, he retorts, "That woman is the best thing that's ever happened to me." He tells them to leave Earth and never return and they're clearly shocked by the man their son has become.

Back at the DEO, a new prisoner is being brought in: it's Darren Criss as the Music Meister! He tells Kara, "I've been looking for you" and does some strange enchantment on her before escaping into the Flash realm through a portal. Kara collapses and Mon-El catches her (aww!) but she awakes from her trance in a strange musical dream.

Who else can't wait to see what the Music Meister's plan is? Or to see Kara and Winn in the musical episode? Don't forget to tune in to The Flash on the CW Tuesday night to see the special Flash and Supergirl crossover musical episode.
