After last week's startling conclusion, BATES MOTEL continued this week with equally unsettling surprises.

This episode found the Bates family dealing with the aftermath of Anika's death on their property. The police come to investigate the scene, and Norman staggers sleepily around the area asking, "Did I do it?". I got shivers.

Right before Anika died in Norma's arms, she gave Norma a mysterious flash drive and instructed her to use it for herself and Norman. Naturally, Norma plugs the drive into her computer to see its contents, but finds it is password protected. She tries to crack the code at an information technology center, but discovers that the flash drive contains a very intricate program that cannot be broken into. Norma tells Dylan about the drive, and he takes it to his farm to remove it from the motel property.

Meanwhile, Romero was hard at work investigating Anika's death. He asks the owner of the town's popular country club (in actuality, an illegal sex house) if he knew anything about Anika's disappearance. The owner, Bob, knew Anika well because she worked as a prostitute in the country club. However, he sketchily dodged Romero's questions.

Romero then interviews Anika's former friend, who also worked as a prostitute. She informs Romero that Lindsay, the girl who died in the marsh, was Bob's prostitute before Anika took over. This is a little suspicious, especially since the car Anika arrived at the Bates Motel in was registered to Lindsay.

Norman and Norma's relationship grew even more creepier this episode, especially since their mother-son dynamic is now showing striking resemblances to that of a romantic couple. Norman continuously attempted to make his mother "jealous" of his relationship with Emma, from planning a picnic to passionately kissing Emma in front of Norma. He acted as if he were a raging ex-boyfriend desperate to get a rise out of his former lover, and his efforts seemed to actually affect Norma.

Speaking of too-close-for-comfort relationships, we got to know Caleb a bit better this week. After having a brutal fight with Dylan that ended in him falling off the roof he'd been working on, Dylan patched him up and Caleb gave him further insight on his prior relationship with Norma. His spoke of Norma in such a loving term, and it seemed he developed romantic feelings for her as a result of their distant parents. Caleb is desperate to make up with Norma and feels a lot of guilt towards his past with her. His speech seems to alter Dylan's opinion of him, which might come in hand in handy for him in the future.

To close the episode, Norman follows Dylan home one night and discovers he is living with Caleb. Angry that Dylan is living with his mother's rapist, he threatens to tell Norma. Dylan begs him to keep the information to himself in order to preserve his relationship with his mother, but Norman refuses to comply. He seems determined to put his brother in a bad light to receive yet more attention from his mother. Color me spooked.
