BREAKING BAD's DEAN NORRIS is the latest actor prepared to go UNDER THE DOME.

CBS announced today that Norris has officially signed on for one of the lead roles, that of 'Big Jim,' a councilman in Chester's Mill who may take his job a little too seriously.

The actor joins previously announced Mike Vogel, Aisha Hinds, Britt Robertson, Natalie Martinez, Colin Ford, Alex Koch, Jolene Purdy and Nicholas Strong for the summer series.

UNDER THE DOME, based on the novel by King, tells the tale of "residents in the Community as they deal with the postapocalyptic conditions while searching for answers as to what the barrier is, where it came from and when -- and if -- it will go away."

Under the Dome will be produced by CBS Television Studios along with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television. Neal Baer (A GIFTED MAN, LAW & ORDER: SVU), King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider and Brian K. Vaughan (Y: THE LAST MAN, LOST) will serve as executive producers. Niels Arden Oplev, the director of the original THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO, will helm the first episode.

UNDER THE DOME will premiere on Monday, June 24 at 10 p.m.
