TVGuide.com reports that actor Ashton Kutcher is very close to signing a new deal with CBS to return to the hit comedy series TWO AND A HALF MEN next year. The series is entering it's 10th season on the air.

Kutcher is believed to be the highest-paid star on TV comedy right now, earning a whopping $700,000 per episode. That number may go as high as seven figures when negotiations between the star and the network are complete. Charlie Sheen, who was fired from the show last year, was earning $1.25 million per episode before leaving.

Despite lower ratings, the show continues to be a hit for the network and a money maker for both Warner Bros. TV and Chuck Lorre, the show's creator.

Earlier this month, Kutcher commented at the PaleyFest panel, "I absolutely adore the time that I'm having. I'm having a great time on the show."
