According to Deadline.com, actor Anthony LaPaglia will join the cast of Quentin Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED. The actor will play the role of the leader of a group of greedy Australians who meet up with Django, actor Jamie Foxx, a former slave who now works as a bounty hunter. Josehph Gordon-Levitt will play LaPaglia's brother in the film. LaPaglia told Deadline "It's wildly ambitious and imaginative, deals with that subject matter in a way it hasn't been dealt with before. The way the cast has shaped up, it's exciting to be involved."

LaPaglia recently completed the film "Mental" directed by PJ Hogan and starring Toni Collette and Liev Schreiber. The film is partially based on the actor's own experience. "I play the father, who in real life had committed his mother to a mental institution, who had five kids, picked up a hitchhiker [Collette] on the way back and said, you're taking care of the kids now."

LaPaglia has appeared on TV's 'Without a Trace". He has no immediate plans for returning to network television. "Network TV series are designed to hit straight down the middle, to appeal to the masses, a common denominator that neither offends or excites anyone," says the actor. "If I ever went back on TV, it would be cable, and I'd never say never."
