From a script by Kenya Barris (The Game), the series follows an upper-middle class black man who struggles to instill his children with "a sense of cultural identity" in a life surrounded by "his liberal wife, old-school father and his own assimilated, color-blind kids."

Barris will also executive produce alongside Anderson, Laurence Fishburne's Cinema Gypsy and Principato Young Entertainment.

Anderson is set to host NBC's Wall of Fame and will next be seen on the big screen in Hot Bot. Other recent movie credits include Grudge Match, The Power of Few, Pororo, the Racing Adventure, Goats, The Big Year, The Back-Up Plan and more. On TV, Anderson is known for his role as 'Gary' on Guys with Kids. He has also appeared in The Soul Man, Treme, Matumbo Goldberg, Law & Order, K-Ville, The Shield, 'Til Death and more.
