Just in time for the 4th of July holiday, Animal Planet announces its wildest summer adventure -- HILLBILLY HANDFISHIN'! Beginning Sunday, August 7, at 10 PM, self-proclaimed hillbillies and experienced hand fishermen Skipper Bivins and Trent Jackson give city folk a taste of their lifestyle as they triple-dog dare thrill-thirsty adventure seekers to come on down to Oklahoma and catch catfish with their bare hands and feet! In each of the 12 hour-long episodes, city slickers try this type of fishing -- known as noodling or handfishing -- for this first time and submerge themselves in murky waters to try and catch 40-lb catfish.

They must watch out for snakes, beavers, muskrats and snapping turtles that take over abandoned catfish holes as homes of their own. The experience might be uncomfortable, completely foreign and downright terrifying, but it promises to alter the lives and positively affect each newly crowned noodler long after the last morsel of deep-fried fish is gone.
