Fortitude International has acquired the rights to the UNTITLED ADIDAS / PUMA PROJECT. The film, which FORTITUDE will finance, will be produced by Andrew Garfield, Rupert Fowler and Fortitude's Nadine de Barros, was written by Fowler and is currently in development. Talks with directors are underway and production is scheduled to begin in 2017.
Fortitude International, co-founded by de Barros and Robert Ogden Barnum, will handle the international rights for the film, while CAA will handle domestic. Set against the backdrop of the rise of Nazi Germany, through the 1936 Berlin Olympics and World War II, the film depicts the true story of the sibling rivalry between the Dassler brothers, Adolf and Rudolf, and THE FAMILY divide that resulted in the emergence of two of the strongest sports brands in history - Adidas and Puma. "Andrew and I have long been fascinated by the epic lives of Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, and we were thrilled to discover that Nadine shares our enthusiasm for bringing them to the big screen" said Rupert Fowler. "Although they survived extraordinary experiences and achieved great successes, at its heart this is a story of two brothers who, sadly, were never able to see eye to eye - largely as a result of the chaotic times in which they lived."Photo Credit: Walter McBride / WM Photos
