Amy Madigan Joins 'Fringe' Next Season

EW's Ausiello Files reports that Amy Madigan has been cast as Olivia's mother in the TV series 'Fringe,' for a four-episode arc. Olivia's mother is described via casting breakdown as "lovely and together." Madigan's first episode will be the series premiere.

Madigan was seen on Broadway in the 1992 revival of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE as Stella.

"Fringe" is a science fiction television series co-created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The series premiered on September 9, 2008 on FOX. The sci-fi series centers around research scientist named Walter Bishop , his son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson), and an FBI agent, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) who brings them back together.
