TVGuide.com reports that actress Allison Janney will be making a guest star appearance on an upcoming episode of Showtime's THE BIG C.

Janney, best known for her Emmy-winning performance on NBC's 'The West Wing', will portray "an ultra-successful Hollywood producer who wants to purchase Cathy (Laura Linney) and Paul's life rights in order to tell their story on the big screen."

Janney's other TV credits include the ABC drama 'Mr. Sunshine'. It was recently announced that she will star in Greg Daniel's adaptation of the British Comedy 'Friday Night Dinner'.

In 1998, Janney was nominated for a Tony Award for her role in Arthur Miller's 'A View from the Bridge'. Her first Broadway role was in 'Present Laughter' opposite Frank Langella. In May 2009, she won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for the role of Violet Newstead in '9 to 5'.

THE BIG C returns to Showtime for its third season on Sunday, April 8 at 9:30/8:30c.
