Adam Lambert to Fill In for Keith Urban at AMERICAN IDOL NY Auditions

As AMERICAN IDOL Season 14 auditions get underway at the Nassau Coliseum, hopeful contestants will be surprised to see a guest judge sitting beside Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.

Due to the unfortunate unexpected passsing of Nicole Kidman's father last week, full time Idol judge Keith Urban will be taking a leeave of absense to be by his wife's side. Former Idol contestant Adam Lambert will step in for the country music singer during the New York Auditions.

FOX shared the news on the show's official Twitter page, posting: "Adam Lambert will be serving as guest judge at the NY auditions. Our thoughts are with Keith and his family during this difficult time."

Lambert previously served as a mentor during the 13th season of the show alongside Idol alum Chris Daughtry.
