Actress Kerry Washington Set to Star in Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED

According to Deadline.com, actress Kerry Washington is set to star in Quentin Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED. The actress will play the role of Broomhilda in the Sergio Leone inspired spaggetti western. Her character is a slave, married to Django, played by Jamie Foxx, a recently liberated slave who has been taught the tricks of the trade by a German bounty hunter played by Christoph Waltz.

Django desperately tries to return home to his wife, who ends up in an assortment of questionable places and adventures. Ultimately, this leads to a confrontation at a ranch known as 'Candyland', which is owned by the notorious Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The cast of DJANGO UNCHAINED also includes Samuel L. Jackson, who will play the role of Rodney, Calvin Candie's valet who keeps the slaves in line at Candie's residence, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, Kurt Russell, Laura Cayouette, Laura Cayouette, Tom Savini, M.C. Gainey and Don Johnson. Joseph Gordon-Levitt may possibly co-star as well.

The film will honor the Sergio Corbucci original 'Django,' Takashi Miike's 'Sukiyaki Western Django,' which features Tarantino, and Elmore Leonard's novel '40 Lashes Less One.'
