Deadline reports that Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi has joined HBO's THE BRINK pilot.

THE BRINK is directed by Jay Roach with a script by Roberto and Kim Benabib. The comedy centers on a geopolitical crisis and what happens to U.S. Secretary of State Walter Hollander - played by Tim Robbins - a Foreign Service officer (Jack Black), and a Navy fighter pilot.

Mandvi is set to play Rafiq Massoud, a Pakistani who works for the U.S. embassy.

Mandvi's next project is the movie Million Dollar Arm. Past film credits include Gods Behaving Badly, The Internship, The Dictator, It's Kind of a Funny Story, Today's Special, The Proposal and more. He has appeared on TV in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jericho, ER, The Bedford Diaries, CSI, Tanner on Tanner, Law & Order and more.
