AVATAR Continues to Dominate Weekend Box Office; NINE Drops From Top 10

James Cameron's 3-D blockbuster AVATAR continues to dominate the weekend box office, grossing $48.5 million from Friday through Sunday, according to an estimate from distributor 20th Century Fox. The gross is down 29% from last weekend, considered a relatively small decline on any weekend. Rob Marshall's NINE which had earned the ninth spot at last weekend's box office has dropped from this weekend's top 10 list.

8. 'Up in the Air.' $7.1

9. 'Youth in Revolt,' $7.0

10. 'The Princess and the Frog,' $4.7
