During the 8 o'clock hour, a repeat of ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." drew 32% more viewers than Fox's original "Glee" (3.3 million vs. 2.5 million) and tied in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3).
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 5.1 million and 2.0/6 in AD18-49):Shifting to 9:00 p.m. for one week, ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." doubled its lead-in (+100% over an encore of the prior week's episode), surging 18% over its week-ago Fast Affiliate Adult 18-49 rating (2.0/6 vs. 1.7/6) and up 5% over its National rating (1.9/6). The show equaled a 5-week high in Adults 18-49 - since 3/11/14. Please Note: Each of its last 2 telecasts have gone up 2-tenths of a rating point from the Fast Affiliate to the L+SD National ratings, and, so far this season originals have gone up 14 times from the morning to the afternoon - rising 2-tenths 3 times now and going up 1-tenth 11 times. In the 9 o'clock hour, the ABC freshman drama ran neck-and-neck with CBS' veteran "NCIS: LA" for No. 1 in Adults 18-49 (2.0/6 vs. 2.1/6), while beating NBC's comedies by 18% (1.7/5 - "About a Boy"/"Growing Up Fisher") and Fox's comedies by 82% (1.1/3 - "New Girl"/"The Mindy Project").
During the 10 o'clock hour against original dramas on CBS ("Person of Interest") and NBC ("Chicago Fire"), "Celebrity Wife Swap" opened with 7-week highs in the time period for ABC in Total Viewers (3.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.0/3) - since 2/25/14. A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 49% currently, from 47% at the same point in 2013. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-
to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
