ABC's GMA Is No. 1 in Total Viewers for Week of November 21

ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (5.026 million) for the week of November 21, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" outperformed "Today" (4.657 million) by its largest margin of victory (+369,000) in 5 months - since w/o 6/6/16. In addition, "GMA" increased its lead over "Today" year to year by 71% (vs. +216,000 on w/o 11/23/15).

For the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks, "GMA" posted week-to-week gains (4.764 million, 1.499 million and 1.092 million, respectively, for w/o 11/14/16) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+5%), Adults 25-54 (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+3%).

"GMA" cut its margins week to week with "Today" by double digits for the 2nd week in a row in both Adults 25-54 (-30% - 187,000 vs. 268,000) and Adults 18-49 (-26% - 177,000 vs. 239,000).

Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers, leading "Today" by 151,000 (4.642 million vs. 4.491 million) to take the top spot at this point of the season for the 5th year in a row.

During the week, "GMA" defeated "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+26%/+1.036 million), Adults 25-54 (+27%/+336,000) and Adults 18-49 (+30%/+261,000).

Note: With Thanksgiving week, "Good Morning America," "CBS This Morning" and "Today" were coded as specials on Thursday and Friday. All specials are excluded from the weekly averages. ABC's, CBS' and NBC's weekly averages are based on three days (Mon-Wed).
