ABC News' Trayvon Martin Coverage, Robin Roberts Special Honored by National Association of Black Journalists

ABC News was recognized at the National Association of Black Journalists' Salute to Excellence National Media Awards on Saturday, August 3 with two awards. The Following reports were honored:

General Assignment - Long Form | Shooting in Sanford: The Death of Trayvon Martin

Matt Gutman and Seniboye Tienabeso's coverage for "World News with Diane Sawyer" dug deep into the mystery of what happened in Sanford the night of February 26, 2012. Their enterprise reporting provided viewers a first look at key information about the incident, including the medical report outlining George Zimmerman's medical condition after the shooting as well as the first images of Zimmerman from that night.

"Good Morning America"
Specialty | Robin's Journey: Finding a Donor

Throughout her journey fighting myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a rare blood disorder, Robin Roberts gave an unflinching and revealing look at the shortage of African American bone marrow donors on "Good Morning America." One report included a live and unforgettable reunion between a patient and the donor who saved her life.
