As first reported on nypost.com, NBC's popular talent competition, AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, will be getting a fourth judge to join current panel members Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel and the recently announcEd Howard Stern.  The show's creator, Simon Cowell told The NY Post, "I always like four person panels because it leaves less room for error. It also means you can have different skill sets on there. I am adamant that we need one."

According to the report, Cowell and the network are in search of a younger judge who would not be afraid to go head to head with Osbourne and Stern.  The hope is that a younger perspective would bring more diverse acts to the competition. Cowell revealed that his choice for a fourth judge is already down to a 'short list of names' and that he hope to make a final announcement in the next four weeks.

Currently, the show's host Nick Cannon and judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne have not officially signed contracts to return for Season 7 of the show, but Cowell assured reporters that he was "99 percent certain they will all be back."

In addition to the younger 4th judge, Cowell's goal is a complete overhaul of the long running talent competition including new graphics, new theme music and a larger, louder studio audience for Season 7.

The show will now be filmed in New York to accomodate judge Howard Stern.  Live audition episodes will begin in Los Angeles in February of 2012.
