38th Season Premiere of SNL Dominates Time Period

The 38th season premiere of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean (4.8/12 in metered-market households), dominated its time period. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Saturday Night Live" averaged a 2.8 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49. Versus the year-ago premiere, which ran one week later at the end of primetime's premiere week, the September 15 "SNL" is up 4 percent in the Local People Meters (2.8 vs. 2.7) and is within 6 percent of the year-ago rating in metered-market households (4.8/12 vs. 5.1/13).
Friday Primetime Results:

· At 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Guys With Kids" is currently averaging a 1.0/4 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall, to deliver NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the half-hour since May 18. Pending updates, the "Guys With Kids" encore ranks #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 and most other key categories.

· At 8:30 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Go On" is currently averaging a 1.0/4 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall, to earn NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since May 18. Pending updates, the "Go On" encore ranks #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 and other key categories.

· At 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Grimm" is currently delivering a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 2.4 million viewers overall. Pending updates, "Grimm" is tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in the time period in 18-49 with the show's top rating among five encores aired in the time period this summer.

· At 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall, building on its lead-in by 29 percent in 18-49 rating and 56 percent in total viewers.

In late-night metered-market households Friday night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.2/5 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.8/4 with an encore; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 2.9/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Saturday Primetime Results:

· From 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Voice" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall) delivered NBC's top 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period, excluding sports, since May 19. The "Voice" rebroadcast ranked #1 in the slot among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in all key adult-female demos.

· From its first half-hour to its fourth, the 8-10 p.m. "Voice" encore grew by 83 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 0.6) and 48 percent or 1.3 million persons in total viewers (4.0 million vs. 2.7 million).

· At 10 p.m. ET, a second rebroadcast of "The Voice" (1.2/4 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall) scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the hour, excluding sports, since December 24, 2011 and the network's biggest overall audience for a non-sports telecast in the slot since May 19. The 10 p.m. "Voice" encore finished #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in all key adult-female categories.

In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday night:

· The 38th season premiere of "Saturday Night Live," with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean (4.8/12 in metered-market households), dominated its time period. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Saturday Night Live" averaged a 2.8 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49. · "Saturday Night Live" was the #1 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox both in 18-49 rating in the Local People Meters and in metered-market household rating, outscoring all primetime programs on those networks.
