LA BOHÈME to Open OperaOn75's Inaugural Mainstage Season in McKinney

OperaOn75, a nonprofit opera company based in McKinney, will present Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Church Street Auditorium in downtown McKinney.

The production marks a major milestone for the young company, bringing together professional principal artists, chorus, conductor, pianist, and orchestra for two performances of one of the world's most beloved operas.

OperaOn75 was founded to bring high-quality live opera to Collin County and the northeast DFW corridor while creating meaningful opportunities for local artists. By producing opera locally, the company aims to give North Texas audiences the opportunity to experience professional opera close to home and at an accessible ticket price.

'La Bohème is exactly the kind of work we dreamed of bringing to McKinney when we started OperaOn75,' said Brianna Clancy, Director of Operations of OperaOn75. 'This production brings together artists and musicians from our region to create something for our own community. Opera belongs here, and we're incredibly excited to welcome audiences into the theater this November.'

The production will be led by conductor Keith Chambers, an established presence in the North Texas classical music community.

OperaOn75 has also announced a collaboration with the Children's Chorus of Greater North Texas, whose young singers will join the production. Heidi Scheibmeir, Artistic Director of the Children's Chorus of Greater North Texas, will serve as Chorus Master for La Bohème.

The principal cast includes Andrew Reidel as Rodolfo, Xinjin Yang as Mimì, David Hobbs as Marcello, Hanna Atsedewoin as Musetta, Uram Park as Schaunard, Adeniyi Samuel as Colline, and Colman Scheibmeir as Benoît/Alcindoro. Emma Gulovsen will cover Mimì, and Scheibmeir will also cover Schaunard.

The November performances come during OperaOn75's first season of building a permanent presence for live opera in Collin County. The company received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status earlier this year and has presented community and fundraising performances while preparing for its first mainstage production.

OperaOn75 is also participating in North Texas Giving Day 2026 and was selected as a featured nonprofit for an appearance on WFAA Daybreak on September 3.
