Wolf Trap Foundation Partners with Boeing, USO-Metro to Honor Military Personnel

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is pleased to join with The Boeing Company and USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore (USO-Metro) to donate 100 tickets to military personnel and their families for the summer 2014 production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The musical event will take place on Saturday, June 7 at 2 pm at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. The fully-staged musical of the beloved Disney film is brought to life, complete with the Academy Award-winning score that includes favorite songs such as "Be Our Guest," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Gaston." The Tony Award-winning costumes and spectacular special effects add to the classic story to create an unforgettable show for the whole family to enjoy.

"We are delighted to partner with The Boeing Company and USO-Metro for another year to bring the delight of a live performance to our military families," said Arvind Manocha, President and CEO of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. "Here at Wolf Trap-America's only national park for the performing arts-we strive to create truly memorable shows for the families of those who serve our country."

"Our service members and their families make sacrifices large and small to keep us safe every day, and we want to say thank you by giving them a magical experience they can enjoy together," said Tim Keating, Senior Vice President for Government Operations at The Boeing Company and Wolf Trap Foundation Board member. "We are honored to provide these families with an experience like Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Wolf Trap is a unique place where I know our military families will feel welcomed and appreciated."

USO-Metro, a nonprofit organization chartered by Congress, is dedicated to "serving those who serve and their families," facilitated distribution of the donated tickets to local military families living in the Washington-Baltimore region. In addition, USO-Metro is bringing its "Mobile USO" which will be staffed with dedicated volunteers who will provide food and beverages for the service members and their families pre-show.

"This show gives us a wonderful chance to lift the spirits of our local military families by providing them with a unique and fun opportunity to enjoy quality time together," said Elaine Rogers, CEO and President of USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore. "USO-Metro is only able to boost the morale of our local troops and their families thanks to the incredible generosity of companies like The Boeing Company and Wolf Trap. Through their kindness we can really show these families just how much the American people appreciate their service to our country."
