It's with great pride that Reservoir celebrates The Delfonics, the classic R&B trio from the original Philly Groove Records roster, as they are inducted into the R&B Hall Of Fame this month. The group will be honored alongside such impactful acts as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye, and Chubby Checker at a ceremony to take place in Canton, Ohio, near the R&B Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland.

Recent years have seen a renewed nostalgia for The Delfonics' music, with features including a dedicated episode of TV One's Unsung, a sample of "Your Name" on rapper Cassius Green's debut EP, and uses of the hit "Ready Or Not, Here I Come (Can't Hide From Love)" and its popular interpolations by The Fugees and Disney star Bridgit Mendler everywhere from major film trailers (The November Man, Baggage Claim) to new editions of the Grand Theft Auto and Just Dance video game series.

Reservoir came to represent a significant portion of The Delfonics' catalog in late 2012, when the publisher acquired Philly Groove Records and its sister publishing company, Nickel Shoe Music. Several Delfonics classics, including "La-La Means I Love You", "Hey! Love", and "Ready Or Not", are among the Philly Groove titles, as are a collection of less renowned Delfonics tracks that remain as moving as their high-profile counterparts today.

Reservoir SVP of Creative and Business Development Faith Newman focused on the latter set of songs for a Delfonics album that Reservoir released in 2013, entitled This Time. The collection includes Delfonics catalog gems like, "I Don't Want To Make You Wait", "Start All Over Again", and "Think It Over." Throughout the catalog's curation, Newman has remained passionate about upholding The Delfonics' place in musical history.
"I have been truly honored to work with an act whose songs have left such an indelible mark on R&B music," Newman says. "Accomplishments like this induction are rewarding because they continue to show that The Delfonics and their music are a timeless piece of cultural history. I couldn't think of a more fitting acknowledgment for such an iconic group."

The 2014 R&B Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the Canton Palace Theater on Sunday, August 24th. For more details, please visit the event website.
