Native Harrow Release Music Video For SOMETHING YOU HAVE, Playing SXSW

Ahead of their SXSW debut, Native Harrow have shared the music video for their new single "Something You Have." The track is off the indie-folk outfit's forthcoming record Happier Now out on April 12 via Different Time Records. They make their first SXSW appearance today at Mozart's Coffee Roasters at 4pm. Details and full schedule below.

"Something You Have" follows previous Happier Now singles "Can't Go On Like This" and "Happier Now." Paste Magazine wrote that, "'Can't Go On Like This' calls to mind the folk-pop giants of yesteryear, but vocalist and guitarist Devin Tuel's flowy, spiritual voice is timeless, and its fluttering beauty will spark a lump in your throat," while Rolling Stone prasied the title track stating, "Although hailing from upstate New York, the two members of Native Harrow revisit the twilight twang and vintage vibes of the 1970s Laurel Canyon folk scene with this softly strummed ballad."

'"Something You Have' is about a relationship where there is an unbalanced amount of focus on one person," states singer-songwriter Devin Tuel. "Giving and giving, and giving more even after you've sworn not to. Some people seem to have a certain magic about them where they can do no wrong. They are never punished for being a bad friend, lover, child, sibling, etc."

"I really started protecting my heart and my time this year and at the same time ruminated on the desire I always have to experience emotion as someone else. I struggle with anxiety and bouts of the blues and I look at others from time to time and think, "wow I'd love to know what it's like to feel this the way you do."

Happier Now is a set of nine songs recorded and mixed by Alex Hall (JD McPherson, The Cactus Blossoms, Pokey LaFarge) at Chicago's Reliable Recorders. The album was co-produced by Hall, Tuel, and her bandmate, multi-instrumentalist Stephen Harms.
