The NEW YORK FESTIVAL OF SONG concludes its 2012-13 Merkin Concert Hall season with its annual showcase featuring four of the nation's most promising young artists, performing music by some of the great Scandinavian composers in SONG OF THE Midnight SUN on Tuesday, March 12 at 8:00PM at Merkin Concert Hall.

Soprano Julia Bullock, mezzo-soprano Sarah Larsen, tenor Theo Lebow, and baritone Tobias Greenhalgh-all members of the 2013 Terrance W. Schwab Vocal Rising Stars Program at Caramoor-perform a program of hidden loves and the poetry of nature, courtesy of the acclaimed Scandinavian composers Grieg, Sibelius, Stenhammar, Nystrom, Nielsen, Rautavaara, and many others.

NYFOS associate artistic director Michael Barrett joins artistic director Steven Blier at the piano. The two conclude their fifth year of mentoring through the NYFOS@Caramoor professional training residency.

The Schwab Vocal Rising Stars program is presented in collaboration with the New York Festival of Song. The initiative, launched as a pilot program in spring 2009, focuses on singing outside the realm of opera, including the song recital and vocal chamber music. Singers at the beginning professional level are invited to Caramoor for a week-long residency that offers intensive daily coaching, rehearsals and workshops with mentors.

A NYFOS on Tour performance of Song of the Midnight Sun will take place on Sunday, March 10 at 4:00PM at the Caramoor Center for Music and Arts in Katonah, NY.
