Morgxn Releases VITAL : BLUE (S T R I P P E D) EP

morgxn continues his stride into 2019 by releasing a 5 track EP vital : blue (s t r i p p e d) HERE, including stripped-down, string and piano-backed versions of songs off his debut album vital, plus one brand new track - "blue (ft. Nicholas Petricca)." Additionally, there are companion live videos for each song off the EP HERE.

PAPER Magazine described blue as follows: "a more cerebral incarnation of morgxn's debut album. On this EP, he proves that he's got more chops than the average alterna-pop newcomer and has more stories to tell, too."

Earlier this month, morgxn made his late night television debut onJimmy Kimmel Live by performing "home" featuring Nicholas Petricca from WALK THE MOON HERE, as well as a stand-out version of "me without you" HERE.
Next month morgxn kicks off a string of tour dates supporting Robert Delong, making stops across the country from Cincinnati, Atlanta to San Diego, San Francisco and ends in Los Angeles.

morgxn on vital : blue (s t r i p p e d): "i've often been told that people want to hear me just at the piano. i'm endlessly proud of the vital record. but i'm also glad to share the blue side - the side that fell out of thin air and became an EP without even trying to be one. i have to thank anyone who listens to my music - because it is your heart that i keep in mind when i listen to this EP. it is a gift to myself and to you. that life has many colors and that is what makes it worth living.

"the color blue is often associated with sadness. or water. to me, the color blue is about communication and expression. it is also the title of my new song - and the collaboration that started it all - with Nicholas. as i wrap the vital chapter, it felt appropriate to strip it back. and show some of the songs in this way. i don't believe it more true. but i do believe it is more blue."

Recorded at the legendary Village Studios, vital : blue (s t r i p p e d) features instrumentation by the Orchid Quartet, string arrangements by Bobby Halvorson (Kimbra, Daniel Johns, Joanna Newsom) and production by morgxn alongside Matt Dyson (Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, Chaka Khan). "The string arrangements, all done by Bobby Halvorson, unlocked this blue expression," morgxn remarked, "the strings were played fearlessly by the Orchid Quartet. They are professional, emotional, and wizards of their craft."
